We support flexible working arrangements wherever possible., To design hardware/software solutions for new equipment and to electrically maintain and improve automated machinery at the Washington plant. Part of this role will involve support to the Project Management process.,
- Ensure production equipment is electrically safe (CE certification, The Machinery Directive, Directive 2006/42/EC, ISO 13849)
- Write software programs for PLC's, Servos and H.M.I's (Mitsubishi and/or Omron would be an advantage)
- Generate drawings and technical documents for equipment
- Work with external suppliers to ensure fit for purpose equipment is delivered to the plant
- Commission equipment to agreed standards
- Work as part of the Engineering and Operations team
- Make an effective contribution to improve product quality and operational performance
- Fault find and resolve issues within the manufacturing process as part of a team
- Supervise electricians and mechanical fitters when needed to complete project work
- Manage projects to completion within a planned timeline
- Present project status daily and monthly
- Source and purchase electrical control equipment

An apprentice time served or graduate electrical engineer, qualified to at least HNC level. Candidates should have a good knowledge of PLC programming preferably with Mitsubishi and Omron. A proven track record in machine building and experience of electrical controls design is also required. Knowledge of project management techniques such as use of MS Project would be beneficial. The role requires a very high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills and an ability to manage complex projects and resources. Overtime working may be required at times as will some travel to external equipment suppliers. Candidates will need to demonstrate good teamwork as there is a need to work closely with others to successfully complete individual and plant objectives throughout the year. Knowledge of machine vision systems would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.
