We require experienced and skilled ELT tutors to teach on our Short Courses and Closed-Group Summer Schools. We offer fixed-term contracts for a range of lengths between May and September 2025.

The Global Opportunities team is part of the International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility team in the External Relations Directorate and manages the University's portfolio of international student mobility partners and programmes, bespoke short courses for students and staff of partner universities overseas and open access summer schools for students from around the world. These programmes aim to build new international relationships and enhance existing relationships with key University partners across the globe and support University strategy.
You will teach on our short courses or closed summer schools where content can include language and skills development, culture, academic skills, creativity, employability skills, intercultural training and business English. Our cohorts of students come from a range of nationalities and backgrounds with levels from B1 to C2 (CEFR)
Your responsibilities will include teaching classes (some of which will involve the integration of language and content study) leading seminars and conducting tutorials. You will also lead and accompany students on educational visits., We particularly encourage applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University.

Relevant teaching certificate (e.g. Cambridge ESOL CELTA, Trinity Cert TESOL).
Experience of teaching monolingual and multilingual classes in the UK and overseas and familiarity with associated challenges and opportunities.
Ability to design teaching material and deliver either across a range of components or within a subject area.
Ability to plan, manage, organise and assess own teaching contributions.
Ability to mark written work, presentations and projects with reference to language, study and communication skills, and provide appropriate feedback to students.
Ability to supervise the work of students, provide advice on learning and development and assist with learning problems.
High level of digital literacy skills and proficient use of office IT software packages, especially Google Education Suite.
Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
Positive attitude to colleagues and students.

Accommodation: An accommodation allowance of £1384 (gross) per month will be paid for tutors whose UK address is more than 30 miles away from the University for the duration of the programme.
