EU Operations Controller-Tactical

Pay Rate: £30,000 to £33,000 Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: Monday to Friday Location: Birmingham (B24 9HY) DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking an EU Operations Controller - Tactical to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

• As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:
• Responsible for monitoring of Tactical volumes and booking of associated transport and communicating with stakeholders within DHL to make sure best practise is met for our customer
• Monitor Tactical transport requirements on daily basis to ensure that there is coverage of all required loads for JLR and that any over-shipping is detected and escalated to our customer.
• Look to challenge carriers where appropriate with any excessive costs , work with stakeholders in various departments to report problems and ensure best practises are met
• Maintain relationships to implement and establish required timelines and discuss any known issues
• Maintain relationships in order to meet program, transit and cost requirements
• Provide special quotes to customer where required to meet special transport requests
• Challenge carriers as appropriate to raise any concerns of high additional costs
• Provide support to Planning Team to advise of any Planning concerns which may cause any risk to customer production
• Identification and support the implementation of savings, cost reductions & efficiency opportunities within the transport network
• Ensure effective time management through active communication and discussion with other stakeholders
