Full Job Description

Kew House School was established in the conviction that there exists an opportunity for a different kind of independent secondary school in London - academically demanding but with a forward-thinking approach to selection criteria, the flexibility of the curriculum, the shape of the school day, and recognition of creativity and talent. A character-selective school, we pride ourselves on the support and care we extend to our 600 pupils whilst striving to add value to their success in all fields of academia, sport, and creativity. Kew House has successfully grown over ten years since its foundation and was recently awarded the ISI "Excellent" grading. Facilities The buildings are equipped with modern facilities with interactive smartboards and access to iPads. Curriculum The SEN Department is an integral part of the school. With a deep understanding of learning differences, the Learning Support Department embraces a creative approach to teaching and learning based on an individual's strengths and needs. The school's aim is to provide a rich and broad education to all pupils, whatever their specialism. Whilst we aim to achieve the highest academic results for each pupil, we do not serve as an examination "factory". Details of the role Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensuring that pupils do not communicate once they enter the examination room
  • Facilitating the smooth running of the examinations by ensuring that pupils abide by the rules of the school and the examining bodies
  • Ensuring that all necessary papers and equipment are available prior to the start of the exam
  • Distributing question papers, answer booklets, and associated materials at the beginning of the examination and collecting them at the end
  • Acting as a reader, scribe or prompter to pupils with the relevant access arrangements
  • Accompanying pupils if they need to leave the examination room for any reason and ensuring that they do not communicate with anyone
  • Contract: Self-employed, as and when required. Further details about the role can be found in the Job Description.
