Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Facilities Manager with a strong HVAC or Mechanical background to oversee the maintenance and technical operations at Whiston Hospital. Job Description This is a critical role ensuring the hospital's facilities remain fully operational, compliant, and efficient to support high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will also work towards Authorised Person (AP) status to enhance compliance and technical expertise on the contract. . Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the hospital, with a focus on HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Manage the M&E (mechanical and electrical) services, including HVAC, medical gases, ventilation, and critical systems.
- Ensure compliance with HTMs (Health Technical Memorandums), SFG20, and other healthcare regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in facility operations, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability in HVAC systems.
- Ensure all works adhere to strict health and safety guidelines and compliance regulations.
- Liaise with hospital management and key stakeholders to align maintenance with operational needs.
Proven experience in facilities management within a healthcare or critical environment, specifically in HVAC and mechanical systems. - Strong technical background in mechanical engineering, HVAC, or building services.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance, including HTMs, SFG20, and statutory regulations.
- Experience leading teams and managing contractors in a live hospital setting.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Facilities Management).
- Willingness to train and develop towards AP/CP status.
