Are you passionate about supporting families and making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Stockport Council is looking for a Family Support Worker - Letterbox to join our Adoption Counts team!
About the Role As a Family Support Worker - Letterbox, you will play a vital role in supporting birth families and adopters with indirect contact through the Letterbox Exchange, ensuring that adopted children maintain a strong sense of identity. You will also support adoptive families in implementing and reviewing adoption support plans.
Key Responsibilities ? Facilitating and reviewing Letterbox contact between birth families and adopters.
? Providing emotional and practical support to adoptive families and birth families.
? Helping adopted children with their identity, belonging, and security.
? Developing and co-facilitating group sessions for adoptive families.
? Working with partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.

What We're Looking For ? NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in childcare.
? Experience working with children who have experienced trauma or neglect.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to work across agencies and deliver family support services.
? Knowledge of adoption, attachment, and early trauma.
? A car user (or alternative arrangements will be considered for disabled applicants).
