Full Job Description

Are you a patient, resilient individual with a passion for making a difference? Do you thrive in a supportive environment where every day is a new opportunity to positively impact someone's life? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

Who Will You Be Supporting?

You'll be supporting two lovely ladies in their 50s and 70s who have lived together for over 20 years. They both have learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, and autism. While they have their differences, they both enjoy an active and engaging lifestyle. Here's a bit about them:

- Hobbies & Interests: They love baking, completing jigsaw puzzles, having their nails painted, and heading out for coffee and sightseeing.

- Social Activities: Regular trips to the Friday disco, visits to the cinema, and a day at the town centre twice a week keep them busy and connected.

- Animal Lovers: They have a soft spot for emotional support dogs, which brings joy to their day.

- Mobility Support: Both ladies use walking frames or wheelchairs when out in the community.

Your role will be essential in helping them to maintain positive relationships and foster a peaceful living environment with a firm but fair approach.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Support Worker, you'll provide a range of services to help these ladies live independently, while ensuring their safety and well-being. Your role will include:

- Empowering Independence: Support them with personal care, medication administration (minimal), and meal prep, helping them live their lives the way they choose.

- Engaging Activities: Accompany them on outings to town, shopping trips, the Friday disco, and cinema visits.

- Daily Living Support: Assist with cooking, cleaning, and maintaining their home in a comfortable and welcoming way.

Your patience and ability to stay calm will be vital in helping these ladies feel supported, understood, and encouraged., BSL Support: British Sign Language (BSL) translated videos are available for all of our recruitment communications.
