This is a pivotal time for positive change in South Tyneside. As we embark on the next exciting phase of the Council's transformation programme, we are looking for a suitably experienced accountant to take us on to the next level of our journey supporting the new corporate financial management model that has been implemented throughout the organisation. You will support the Strategic Finance Team in managing the financial affairs of the Council.

You will support the production of the Council's financial statements and external audit process and undertake the completion of statutory returns whilst maintaining the integrity of the chart of accounts. As we embark on a project to implement a new finance system, this role will support the project and to enable an efficient and effective system across the Council post implementation.
