Full Job Description

The Finance Assistant reports to the Head of Finance & Operations. The responsibilities are:

  • Invoicing of Producer fees and reconciling with external accountants on participation statements. This is highly sensitive information and good numeracy skills are required for this task. Updating an excel worksheet to be shared with the Head of Finance which is time sensitive in many cases.
  • Managing and capturing the data for recharges to be invoiced to various productions monthly. Again, this is time sensitive and will involve liaising with the Financial Controllers on various Film & TV shows. The Finance Assistant is responsible for colliding all back up documents (invoices, credit card statements etc) and providing these with the invoices. Great attention to detail and excellent numerical skills are required to complete this task.
  • The Finance Assistant is responsible for following up outstanding invoices and reporting to the Financial Controller and the Head of Finance if any collections issues arise.
  • Managing the Finance Teams filing system especially in relation to Audit and HMRC requirements.
  • Managing the company's petty cash account, including paying work experience travel expenses and other ad hoc cash expenses, cashing up and preparing a petty cash reconciliation on a monthly basis.
  • Managing the group of companies' credit cards, including collecting and organizing receipts and preparing all credit card reconciliations. There are currently 13 credit cards in the company across the UK and the US with certain credit cards having over 250 transactions each month. Therefore, great time management, outstanding organization and efficient communication skills are essential to complete this task. In addition, a knowledge of VAT and basic understanding of income tax as well as the thorough knowledge of internal financial policies is essential.
  • Dealing with any other ad hoc requests from the Head of Finance and being available to assist the company's Finance team with administrative tasks as requested.
  • Dealing with any technical and IT problems, liaising with the company's IT team to find quick, efficient resolution to any IT issues.

    The Finance Assistant will be:
  • Degree educated or have good A-level results, strong results in Mathematics and /or Accountancy
  • Strong excel skills
  • A confident and effective communicator at all levels
  • Highly numerate with attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Able to handle sensitive issues in a diplomatic and discrete manner
  • Passionate for film and the film & media industry in general
  • Familiar with most Microsoft packages including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems, training will be given on specific systems that Working Title use
