Full Job Description

An exciting Finance Director opportunity has arisen in Data and Analytics (D&A), reporting to the Head of Finance, Workflows & Analytics. D&A, the largest of three LSEG business divisions, has 2023 income of £4.3bn. The division comprises three businesses, two of which are Workflows & Analytics. This role requires a dedicated and proven finance business partner who can work closely with the Head of Finance, the leadership team, and the Heads of the Businesses. This role is based in London.,

  • Partner with the business financially across the income statement, investments, balance sheet and profitability focused on where the largest value drivers are
  • Use underlying trends, future business plans and external market factors to assist with the composition of short-term forecasts (current financial year), budgets (next financial year) and 3-year plans; lead the budget cycle.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of business drivers and bring a comprehensive understanding of how these fit into Group strategy and undertake competitor analysis.
  • Lead the development and implementation of scorecards and metrics to help drive performance and assess and measure key strategies.
  • Provide meaningful scenario and sensitivity analysis to facilitate decision making.
  • Maintain and develop strong working relationships across the organisation beyond finance and the business, specifically partnering with FP&A, IR and Strategy teams to deliver the next best in class analysis and processes.
  • Challenge and make recommendations with respect to performance against budget, budget setting and financial viability of new divisional initiatives.
  • Provide valuable analysis & commentary of the results.
  • Prepare monthly performance updates for leadership ensuring key risks, issues and opportunities are highlighted, with a focus on key value drivers.
  • Build a talented team maximising efficiency of production through collaboration with other D&A finance teams.
  • Drive the transformation of finance demanding best in class solutions and challenging the status quo.
  • M&A / special projects:
  • Lead M&A activities, including but not limited to owning financial modelling, sizing synergies.
  • Work closely with the Strategy team for valuation and target tracking.
  • Assist with any strategic decision making that requires financial input, as part of the leadership team for a significant area of the business

    Significant work experience demonstrating progression through various finance roles.
  • Demonstrate experience of partnering and influencing senior business stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Commercially minded able to influence change across finance and related functions.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Power BI skills would be advantageous
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A high level of interpersonal skills and an ability to function effectively as part of a global team that coordinates, works, and reports out of different geographies.
  • Degree qualified and accounting certification (CIMA, ACCA etc.) and / or master's in finance.
