Full Job Description

Whittington Health is an Integrated Care Organisation (ICO) which provides acute and community services to the populations of Islington, Barnet and Haringey. This post will be based in the London Borough of Haringey

This is a full time Band 7 fixed term post for 12 months. The post is split across the Early Years Service and Special Schools in Haringey. The post holder will also contribute to the running of the orthotics service.

The Early Years component of the post will be based at Tynemouth Road Health Centre and the special schools post will be across the two Vale School sites in Tottenham.

The post holder will be required to hold a clinical caseload and to have managerial and service development responsibilities. They will work collaboratively with fellow Band 7 children's physiotherapists and the lead for physiotherapy to develop services for babies, children and young people across the wider service. They will hold overall responsibility for a caseload of children and will manage and support Band 6 and ancillary staff in a manner which develops their skills to be effective practitioners., This is a split post covering Early Years and some of the Special Schools in Haringey.

The post holder will need advanced physiotherapy knowledge and skills in the assessment and treatment of babies and children with conditions ranging from developmental delay and baby orthopaedics to complex neuro-disabilities. Post graduate training in paediatrics is preferable and training and experience of specialist approaches is welcomed.

The post holder will deliver training and supervision to less experienced staff members and demonstrate skills in people management and development. They will also demonstrate the ability to deputise for the service lead when necessary.

The post holder will be a highly effective communicator and demonstrate a range of advanced communication skills and demonstrate effective approaches in manging difficult situations with families and staff.

The post holder will contribute to the overall governance of the service and should demonstrate the ability to manage the quality and effectiveness of their service area.
