Full Job Description

We're proud to produce the in-store customer magazine for one of the UK's biggest and most dynamic food retailers: Asda. The vibrant magazine is packed with exclusive recipes and is read by millions every month. As Food Writer, you will assist the Food Editor creating all of our recipe and food content. You will collaborate to conceive imaginative and helpful themes for recipe content; commission and oversee testing for all of our original recipes, adopting the Asda customer mindset; assisting in the management of the process of nutritional analysis with external stakeholders; and be a lead expert on food and food trends within the team. Above all, you will ensure that all our food content is engaging, accurate, nutritionally balanced, budget-friendly and meets the varied needs of shoppers while fulfilling the client brief.   • A passion for working with Asda to create and showcase varied, exciting, great-value food.
  • An endless supply of great ideas to inspire people to cook, experiment, explore and manage their budgets and a passion for the grocery industry.
  • Significant experience in professional food content creation, ideally with recipe development, testing, styling and content delivery for a consumer and / or retail brand. (Please include links to a portfolio or examples of your work.)
  • Proven organisational, writing and editing skills in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience of working to a client brief and responding smartly to client needs and feedback, ideally in an agency environment. The ability to confidently champion and explain your ideas to colleagues and clients, and always maintain a positive, collaborative client relationship.
