Full Job Description
Working as a Funding Officer within the England Central Funding team, you will join our Advice Team. You will be the front-line for telephone and email queries to the Fund from a wide range of customers, dealing mainly with pre-application advice and support for all England and UK programmes, discussing feedback with organisations whose applications have been unsuccessful, queries about funded applications in grant management. This will include contact directly with grant holders and applicant organisations and with a range of colleagues. You will have a strong understanding of our vision and our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. You will manage your own caseload. The successful candidate must be based near to and be able to easily travel to one of our centres in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Birmingham, as this role may require office working from time to time. Please note that our phone lines are open 0900 - 1700 and the successful candidate will be expected to support shared team cover of these hours.
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyse a range of information in order to make evidence-based judgements, to challenge when appropriate and to manage risk.
- Ability to learn and apply a variety of detailed processes and technology systems (MS office and Salesforce).
- Good planning, organisation and time management skills. Managing your workload to meet targets and handle competing priorities.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships, working within a large team and demonstrating a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Confidence to continually seek and act on feedback to evaluate and improve your own performance. Desirable
- Understand the role of the third sector and the communities we work with and how we make a difference through our funding
- Proactively share learning, knowledge and information, and make improvements by working with colleagues
