General Practitioner

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B remand prison based in Winchester, Hampshire. The prison houses around 706 patients, and is a busy prison where no 2 days are ever the same, because of this the role would suit a GP who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. This position will be focused on receptions, supporting the new intake of patients, within this role you will be working closely with a multi-disciplinary team including SMS prescriber, ACP and other GP's, you will be working. Hours Monday - Friday 7pm-10pm Saturday Saturday 2pm-5pm Due to the nature of the hours we are open to this role being a job share Salary, As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will

• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management
• Prescribing for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions
• Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities. Including diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate in line with guidelines and pathways.   MBChB or MBBS

• Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these

This position is part time working 18 hours per week. You will receive an annual salary up to £120,000 per annum FTE depending on experience. How will we support you?
