Full Job Description

We require a generic support worker for the Jean Heyes Rehabilitation Unit, based at Leigh Infirmary. The unit supports individuals who are medically well enough to be discharged from hospital, but who require a period of bed-based, Nurse & Therapy led rehabilitation. It supports individuals to achieve specific goals which enable safe discharge back into the community or their own home.,

  • To assist and work under the direction of Registered Nurses, Chartered Physiotherapists and State Registered Occupational Therapists

  • To work with adults being medically optimised prior to discharged in the Jean Heyes Rehabilitation Unit

  • To assist in the administration and clerical duties of the unit

  • To administer and monitor the stock of aids for independence and other departmental equipment

  • To work flexibly when required, which will involve covering a 7 day 24hr service

    We are recruiting for a number of permanent full time positions (37.5 hours) but part time would be considered. Working across Monday to Sunday, with day and night shifts. You must hold either a qualification in Health & Social Care or have equivalent competencies gained in an NHS/UK healthcare rehabilitation role.
