Full Job Description
The Government Procurement & Tender Specialist will be responsible for identifying, preparing, and submitting competitive tenders for government contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and maximising business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public sector procurement, tender writing, and contract management.
This is a fully remote position, but occasional travel may be required for meetings, presentations, and networking events.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender Identification & Management:
Identify relevant government and public sector tender opportunities that align with company offerings.
Lead the end-to-end tendering process, from research and proposal writing to submission and follow-up.
Ensure all tenders are prepared accurately, competitively, and in compliance with procurement regulations.
Maintain a tender pipeline and keep track of deadlines, bid statuses, and contract renewals.
Proposal Writing & Submission:
Develop high-quality bid documentation, including executive summaries, technical responses, and pricing models.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for tender submissions.
Ensure all bids reflect the company's strengths, competitive advantages, and unique selling points.
Conduct post-submission reviews to analyse successes and areas for improvement.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure full compliance with public procurement laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with government contracts and procurement processes.
Stay updated on policy changes, legal frameworks, and best practices in public sector procurement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, procurement officers, and key decision-makers.
Represent the company at public procurement events, industry forums, and networking meetings.
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on tendering strategies and procurement best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in government procurement, tendering, or contract management.
Strong knowledge of public sector procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent proposal writing, research, and analytical skills.
Ability to interpret complex tender documents and develop compelling, competitive bids.
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in procurement platforms (e.g., Contracts Finder, TED, Find a Tender Service).
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in financial services, education, or digital products sectors.
Understanding of budgeting, pricing models, and cost estimation for tenders.
Familiarity with framework agreements, e-auctions, and procurement portals.
