Grounds Person

We are looking for a Grounds person with the vision to maximise the best use of our existing grounds and gardens. You will be responsible for their upkeep and maintenance, ensuring that they are attractive and safe. This role will involve working with students encouraging them to make the best use of their environment. By carrying out these responsibilities well, you will be helping to provide the best possible quality of care for the young people who live with us. You will also be helping to create a safe and pleasant working environment for the other people who work here.

The ideal candidate will have a positive outlook and be able to follow instructions. Previous gardening experience would be preferred. The candidate will need to be highly self-motivated and confident working in certain areas of the school alone.

Grateley House School is a residential school for young people aged 11-19 years, who have a diagnosis of Autism or have strong emotional / behavioural traits of the Autistic Spectrum, typically high functioning Autism (Asperger Syndrome). The school can support young people with other associated difficulties such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia.
