Full Job Description
In addition to the key tasks outlined below, the primary purpose of the Group Payroll & Benefits Manager will be to not only to take ownership for all payroll and benefits requirements from the relevant countries but also to develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the associated payroll/benefits related processes within each country (e.g. tax payments, statutory requirements, pensions, benefits renewals etc.). Job Responsibilities
- Ensure each payroll (18 in total across 15 countries) is processed accurately and on time.
- Distribute approved monthly and annual variable pay details to respective payrolls.
- Lead, manage, coach and develop 1 direct report (Global Payroll & Benefits Executive).
- Manage and support the wider global Payroll team (APAC).
- Manage the relationship and associated contracts with the various international payroll providers.
- Update and maintain the various Global Benefits portals.
- Complete monthly data cleansing to comply with GDPR and other local compliances and legislation.
- Prepare, reconcile, and submit monthly and annual pension contributions for various pension schemes.
- Manage various global payroll and benefit projects including supplier migrations.
- Resolve all payroll discrepancies that may arise during the processing cycle.
- Provide advice and information to all employees relating to payroll, benefits, and pension queries.
- Support HR with the annual benefits and brokers reviews.
- Communicate directly with Finance, HR, the Executive team, and our network of international payroll providers to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Manage and submit monthly and annual payroll calendars to internal and external stakeholders.
- Take ownership of annual tasks such as P11D's, P60's, T4's, W2's, 1095 C, processing of salary reviews and bonus payments etc.
- Supply accurate management information to the Executive team, external auditors and any other stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitoring the payroll mailbox and responding to queries, escalating when required.
- Develop and maintain internal working relationships to a high standard.
- Assume responsibility for reviewing/approving invoices from relevant suppliers.
- Any other duties as required.
Key Skills Strong organisation and planning skills to ensure that the workload is managed and deadlines achieved - Strong stakeholder management skills (internal and external)
- Able to develop and sustain good working relationships locally and internationally
- Highly developed leadership and people management skills Desirable Skills Qualifications
- Good standard of formal education (A-level preferred)
- CIPP or equivalent qualification desirable Experience
- Working knowledge of current global payroll legislation (UK, US, Europe & APAC)
- Working knowledge of the following payroll/benefits systems operated by Smartstream o ADP, Thomsons/Darwin portal, Sage People
- Accomplished Microsoft user (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) o Excel - sufficiently developed skills to be able to manipulate large data sets (including vlookup function, pivot tables etc.)
- Good written and spoken English - any other European language is an advantage
- Experience of SME working and culture (small team flexibility and cross-capability)
