Full Job Description

The School is seeking an exceptional Drama specialist to support the work of our newly created Expressive Arts Team, encompassing Music, Drama and Dance. The Assistant Curriculum Leader of Expressive Arts will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual committed to collaborative work across the three specialisms.

Heston Community School is a successful, vibrant, happy and oversubscribed school where 'Pupils speak proudly about 'Hestonian values', such as kindness, honesty, resilience and equality. These values are embedded in the day-to-day life of the school. They provide a shared language for teachers and pupils, inspiring them to be the best that they can be. As a result, pupils' behaviour and attitudes to learning are exceptional.' [OFSTED December 2022]

'Pupils behave exceptionally well in lessons and listen carefully to teachers' explanations. This has a very positive effect on their learning. They enjoy warm and positive relationships among themselves and with their teachers.' [OFSTED December 2022]

We are now seeking to appoint an individual who shares our passion for learning and our determination to change lives through the education we provide.

We place great store on staff development, at all levels with an extensive programme of professional development, offering a whole range of opportunities for colleagues to develop their potential within and beyond Heston.

We believe that schools can and do make a difference; change lives and, that the most important asset in any school, is its staff. The success of Heston Community School is due to our dedicated, committed, experienced and enthusiastic staff.

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share in this commitment. This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check and positive references.
