Full Job Description

This role will report to the Deputy s151 officer and lead a team focused on preparation of the financial statements and all external financial reporting, and will be the expert on technical accounting issues. Alongside this you will play a key role in developing our ledger to ensure we make full use of its potential. You will have experience of preparing accounts, but more important is an energy for tackling challenges and motivating your team. This post will work closely with two other senior finance posts, the Head of Financial Operations and the Head of Finance Business Partnering.
Working is hybrid, but a presence on the office on average once a week is desirable as building a motivated team will be critical to success.

With the lowest Council Tax of any unitary authority outside of London we have a record of delivering efficiently. However, we cannot stand still and strengthening the finance team so that is fit to meet future demands is a priority.
