Reporting to the General Counsel, the Head of Legal will be responsible for managing day-to-day legal matters across the UK businesses. They will identify the most productive and cost-effective course of action alongside deploying appropriate resources. They will work directly and collaboratively with the General Counsel, senior management and representatives of each operating brand. Main Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of legal professionals, including qualified lawyers and paralegals handling various legal functions, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Manage and oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts to ensure advantageous commercial outcomes and appropriate mitigation of risk.
• Lead and manage the legal aspects of our Mergers & Acquisitions activities, including negotiations in conjunction with outside counsel, reviewing due diligence outputs, commercial agreements, and counselling business leadership.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
• Provide support and counsel on legal queries, including contractual interpretation, reviewing restrictive covenants and risk management.
• Oversee the team handling and resolving legal disputes, including litigation and mediation.
• Manage renewal of the corporate insurance program and oversee the claims administration function relating to all policies including Professional Indemnity, Public Liability, and Employers Liability.
  
  This senior role requires a seasoned legal professional with 10+ years of PQE, specializing in commercial contracts, team management, and strategic legal oversight. Experience in residential real estate or construction is a plus, along with knowledge of UK legislative developments. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills, a business-oriented mindset, and the ability to build trusted relationships. They must be organised, results-driven, and capable of simplifying complex issues while working independently with minimal supervision.
