This will include work to ensure the premises across Wales are benefiting from the latest technology available, and staff are safe and are supported to work how they work best.
+ Operational management of the Public Health Wales estate across Wales. This includes responsibility for professional leadership of Screening facilities and shared premises.
IT Operations
· Management of the IT operational staff (Service Desk, Desktop and Devices and Infrastructure Engineering teams)
+ Development of strategies to modernise IT equipment and networking infrastructure, ensuring the organisation remains safe and has business continuity plans in place.
+ Procurement of IT equipment in line with our Capital programme
Health and Safety
· Lead on Health and Safety for Public Health Wales, professionally leading with Health and Safety Managers across the organisation.
+ Lead on specialist aspects of estates services, responsible for interpreting legislative requirements and ensuring that the environment is safe for all service users.
+ Accountable for policy and procedure for health and safety across the organisation

If so, we have just the role for you in the Operations and Finance Directorate at Public Health Wales. We are delighted to be advertising for our Head of Operations role, which is a unique opportunity with a diverse portfolio. With passion, dedication, vision and enthusiasm, coupled with a wealth of experience in Estates, IT operations and Health & Safety, you will have a broad set of skills in strategic and operational management. Your experience in leading and implementing change and improvement, will inspire confidence with Executive Team, staff and stakeholders., You will need to have senior level experience in Estates, IT Operations and Health and Safety in an NHS or similarly complex environment. You will have successfully implemented large scale organisational change and have considerable experience of developing and implementing long term strategies, policies and procedures which ensure the organisation remains safe and business continuity plans are in place.
You will need to have excellent technical, planning, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate others, and demonstrate a commitment to personal development, and dedication and enthusiasm for our long-term strategy

The salary scale shown is for a full-time member of staff, with the amount being adjusted pro rata for those working less than 37.5 hours per week.
In general, anyone joining our Trust who has not previously worked in the NHS will, by default, start on the first point of the advertised pay band. Pay progression will then be determined by annual Performance and Development Reviews in accordance with the NHS Wales Pay Progression Policy. An application for Incremental Credit may be considered, but can only be awarded based on evidenced, reckonable service and/or equivalent, relevant experience.
