Full Job Description
The schools we work with provide education to children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Complex Health Conditions. As a Health Care Assistant you will work both independently and alongside existing team members of the Special Schools Nursing Team to promote the well-being of Children and Young People.
Previous experience of working with children and you people with complex health and special educational needs is essential. There will be opportunities to develop your existing skills and gain new skills and knowledge within this role.
The hours for this role are as follloows -
Term Time Only
+ Monday: 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
+ Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
+ Wednesday: Day off
+ Thursday: 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
+ Friday: 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship., The post holder will undertake duties alongside the Special Schools Nursing Team to promote the holistic health care and well-being of Children and Young People aged 11-19 years by supporting planned programmes of care to ensure that the health needs of any child are recognised and managed appropriately and that disruption to the pupil's access to education and learning is minimised. The role will involve providing key clinical care interventions to children and young people.
Additionally, you will work as an effective member of the multi-agency team within the special school, working in partnership with Parents/Carers Education and Allied Health Staff to ensure any child or young person individual health needs are met. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Health Care Assistant to join our friendly and experienced Special School Nursing Team at Elms Bank Special School whilst also rotating to other sites as required in Bury., You must have an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification with experience and knowledge of caring for children and young people with complex health needs and learning disabilities.
