No two days in this role will be the same. You'll tackle a wide range of responsibilities, from conducting thorough inspections and accident investigations to carrying out fire alarm tests and lockdown drills. Risk assessments will be at the heart of your work, enabling you to identify and mitigate potential hazards while promoting best practices across the College. You'll also compile clear, actionable safety reports that guide decision-making and support a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration will be a key part of your role. You'll work closely with colleagues across all levels, delivering expert advice, practical training, and personalised risk assessments tailored to departmental needs. You'll be the go-to person for health and safety guidance, influencing positive change and ensuring compliance with the highest standards. Your responsibilities will also extend to assisting with the College's risk management system, assisting departments in understanding and implementing procedures, and liaising with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing of safety supplies. Strong communication skills are a must, as you'll be engaging with staff, students, and external partners, confidently addressing queries and offering practical solutions. The ideal candidate will be organised, adaptable, and capable of managing a diverse workload. You'll be comfortable working independently and collaborating as part of a supportive team, demonstrating a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
