If you are new to care you must complete a care certificate when you commence employment with CDDFT and be paid at a band 2 level until completion. We are unable to offer sponsorship to new to care applicants. Please note that this advert will close when sufficient applications have been received. The job will entail caring for a range of patients withmultiple medical problems, providing help with all activities of dailyliving. Where we do have specialism inRespiratory patients, we get a wide range of patient from many differentbackground that all require individualized care. You will be working with a very close team undersupport from the senior nurses and Ward Manager, to ensure the best care andexperience is had by the patients at all times. Main duties of the job

  • To assist in admitting patients to the ward, completingdemographic details and recording base-line observations.
  • Toprovide care to patients following instructions in the care plan, programme or pathway.
  • Todemonstrate competence in the accurate recording of routine clinicalobservations.
  • Torecognise abnormal recordings or signs of change in a patients condition andreport changes to a registered nurse.
  • To assesspatients level of dependence in meeting personal care needs and giveappropriate assistance (includes hygiene, mobility, nutrition, elimination andcomfort).
  • To assistpatients to eat and drink in a sensitive and supportive manner.
  • Toaccurately record information on patient food charts and fluid balance charts,reporting concerns to a registered nurse.
  • To carryout clinical skills relevant to the ward / department and patient group (egphlebotomy, ECG recording, simple dressings).
  • To assistclinical team with data entry, filing and maintaining accurate documentation ofcare.
  • To assistin escorting, transferring and discharging patients, ensuring all property ispacked and the bed area is prepared for the next patient.
  • To ensuretreatment rooms and ward areas are adequately stocked and tidy.
  • Toparticipate in clinical supervision.
  • Toassist in resolving conflict by responding to concerns and complaints in apositive manner.

  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Care Certificate or willingness to complete within the first 6 months of commencement in post.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Desirable Short courses relevant to undertake patient and clinical care duties. Experience Essential
