Full Job Description
- Driving and Navigation: + Operate a Class 2 vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. + Navigate routes using GPS and maps to ensure timely deliveries.
- Loading and Unloading: + Load goods onto the vehicle securely, ensuring weight distribution and adherence to safety guidelines. + Unload goods manually at delivery points, following manual handling procedures to prevent damage.
- Documentation and Communication: + Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork as required. + Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Vehicle Maintenance: + Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle. + Report any defects or maintenance needs promptly to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Compliance and Safety: + Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies at all times. + Follow health and safety protocols during loading, unloading, and driving operations.
- Teamwork and Communication o Liaise with transport planners, dispatchers, and warehouse teams for efficient route planning. o Report any incidents, delays, or issues affecting deliveries.
- C licence (no more than 6 points)
- Good communication skills and customer focus
- Excellent attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable
- Ability to lift and handle heavy goods during loading and unloading.
- Prioritise safety in all aspects of work, including manual handling and driving practices.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules Desired criteria
- Good level of literacy in English
