Full Job Description
This is a rewarding role which involves managing a highly motivated staff team and the smooth running of a temporary accommodation. We are recruiting both a Homeless Lead Officer for Woodward Court and a Homeless Lead Officer for our new site Brownley Road: Woodward Court is a 60 flat mixed accommodation for medium to high needs individuals experiencing homelessness. Staff support residents with accessing universal credit, bank accounts, drug and alcohol referrals, mental health referral, budgeting, getting formal ID, creating personalised support plans, listening to their concerns and needs and eventually moving them on to suitable medium to long term accommodation. The HLO will monitor, train, line manage and support staff to do this work, as well as assisting the Team Leader with the efficient running of the hostel to Manchester City Council aims and objectives. Additionally the Woodward Court management team also manage a smaller low need site Ashton Old Road. Brownley Road is a new accommodation in Wythenshawe that is being opened to support low to medium support needs clients. The Homeless Lead Officer will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in managing 10 brand new accommodation support workers in what will be a dynamic new team who will support clients to move onto more medium to longer term accommodation. The HLO will monitor, train, line manage and support staff to do support work as outlined in the above description, as well as assisting the Team Leader. Both roles receive additional 6.7% as a flexibility payment for occasional weekend work and late finishes. The successful candidate for this role will be empathetic, have strong people skills and be passionate about ending homelessness. You will be a flexible and motivated worker who can deal with rapidly changing situations and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance - this post is subject to BPSS checks.
