Why not join us as a Hospital Support Assistant team leader in our busy fast paced hospital environment?

The facilities team are looking for a member of staff to join their team to support the cleanliness and patient feeding services in the hospital, and lead a team of cleaning and catering staff.

This is contracted role working on a two week rota basis, 1:00pm - 8:30pm.

Main duties of the job

To ensure compliance with all Trust Policies.

To ensure the Appraisals of all staff take place.

To assist in the process for recruitment and selection of staff within the Department.

To arrange any relief staff/bank to cover of absence sickness and annual leave

Responsible for inducting new members of staff to ensure training is complete.

Participate in the training of staff.

Responsible for undertaking an agreed program of quality control audits for area of responsibility.

To prioritise work allocation and staffing in order to carry out vacate cleans and re-open to an agreed timetable to maintain the availability of beds

Responsible for the planning, preparation and supervision of working rotas in the most efficient manner including the allocation of overtime.

maintain keys/swipe cards to rooms in a secure fashion.

Record and maintain the annual leave entitlements of staff, of which they are responsible, ensuring annual leave is taken in a timely manner to suit both the staff member and the service.

To conduct return to work interviews and complete appropriate forms.

To be able to effectively communicate, influence and negotiate with staff members, at times conducting difficult and often sensitive conversations where barriers to understanding may exist.

To ensure that food temperatures are recorded and accurately reported.
