Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Housing Officer to join their Housing, Regeneration and Operations Directorate. As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective housing management services within a designated area. You'll be delivering services in line with the council's policies and priorities, managing a range of tenancy and estate management functions., n
- Manage tenancy agreements, anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues, and estate management within your designated area.\n
- Provide advice and support for tenants, identifying tenancy support needs and making appropriate referrals.\n
- Maximise rental income by ensuring the recovery of rent arrears and court costs.\n
- Deliver comprehensive landlord functions to tenants, leaseholders, and residents.\n
- Undertake regular tenancy visits and monitor property conditions and communal areas.\n
- Work closely with external agencies to provide welfare benefit advice, income maximisation, and debt counselling services.\n
- Assist with property allocations and the letting of properties in accordance with the council's Allocations Policies.\n
- Ensure compliance with fire and health and safety regulations.\n
- Respond to ASB issues, prepare legal notices, and provide support in court proceedings when required.\n
- Maintain good relationships with tenants and outside agencies through communication and consultations.\n
Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English.\n - A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in social housing.\n
- In-depth knowledge of housing management and tenancy procedures.\n
- Proven experience in delivering excellent customer service.\n
- Ability to handle difficult and confrontational situations with tact and diplomacy.\n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of writing reports.\n
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your workload efficiently.\n
- Good IT literacy and experience with housing management software.\n
- A flexible approach to working hours, including attending out-of-office meetings and responding to emergencies.\n Desirable Criteria: \n
- Experience in improving housing services or managing change in a housing context.\n
- Experience working with vulnerable or elderly tenants and providing specialist housing support.\n
