Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Coordinator to join our HR & OD team here at our Head Office in South Shields. This will be an integral part of the HR Team, key to supporting the efficient running of HR Operations, as well as providing HR coordination support to the wider team. This role will manage key HR and training activities such as HR admin, HR communications as well as supporting the co-ordination of our Learning and Development programme. They will also provide first line support and advice to our Managers and Employees., HR Admin and Co-ordination Activities

  • System administrator for our key HR systems (Iris-Cascade & MitreFinch), and point of contact for all system queries, escalating where needed.
  • Co-ordinate the onboarding of all new starters - preparing, issuing and filing offers/contracts, and preparing induction packs, clock cards, right to work checks, etc.
  • Leaver admin - processing leavers on the HR system in a timely manner for Payroll, issuing resignation acknowledgement letters, monitoring exit interviews and flagging any issues with HRBP's etc.
  • Prepare occupational health referrals and arranging appointments.
  • Support the annual pay and bonus process.
  • Provide holiday and absence cover for HR Assistant.
  • Employee Relations Provide support in employee relations activities:
  • Supporting and advising Managers with low level cases.
  • Note taking in investigations, disciplinary's etc.
  • Administrating ER paperwork and system actions.
  • Escalating complex cases where appropriate.
  • Learning and Development
  • Manage the L&D inbox.
  • Arrange training sessions / send invites, communication etc.
  • Coordinate induction days.
  • Booking employees on development courses and webinars, as well as maintaining electronic training records.
  • HR Communications
  • Prepare and distribute comms on behalf of the HR Team.
  • Support HR Team members in creating PowerPoint communications.
  • Maintain and enhance the HR website and self-service options.
  • HR Projects
  • Participate in projects to ensure the HR department meets its objectives and continuously adding value to the business.
  • Contribute to service delivery by making recommendations for improvements to core HR processes.
  • Support the wider HR team with implementation of HR changes/projects.

    Experience of participating in ER meetings, taking notes, composing letters etc.
  • Confident and proficient in the use of HR systems and troubleshooting issues
  • Able to prioritise and organise own workload
  • Confident communicator
  • Strong all round IT skills - proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Thorough and methodical approach
  • Basic understanding and up to date knowledge of HR policies and practice
