Full Job Description

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the People Director, HR support to the Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) and People Team.,

  • Close collaboration with People Director, People Team, Parent company HR teams and members of the project Senior Management Team to ensure timely completion of multiple projects and people initiatives.
  • Collate people team data for monthly reporting to Joint Venture Board and HS2, working closely with SCS PowerBI team and People Team data owners to continuously improve data offering.
  • Carry out exit interviews with SCS leavers and use data to help inform decisions around attraction and retention, identifying trends and appropriate action.
  • Create, analyse and present various people related reports, such as leaver, absence and talent review data to help make better informed decisions about our people practices.
  • Leading People improvement initiatives which focusses on our branding and knowledge sharing of our team, it's successes and how we can streamline some of our processes.
  • Main point of contact for People Team audits and ensure any non-compliance is resolved in a timely manner.
  • Lead the annual Voice Engagement Survey, analyse trends, create presentation packs, and present findings to Senior Management Team.
  • Coordinate team events, meetings and socials and be the go-to person for any people related queries, including offering guidance and advice as appropriate.
  • Ensure all People policies and procedures are up to date and aligned across the project and parent companies.
  • Assist in development of annual People Strategy/plans to ensure it aligns with project and people priorities.
  • Work closely with Parent Company HR teams to share information and provide reports as necessary.
  • Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project., You'll be a welcomed member of the wider team, with opportunities to take on additional responsibility, join one of our networks for women, military or LGBT+ staff, and participate in cultural and social events with the local community (e.g. as a STEM ambassador).

Develop a culture of safety on the project through the absolute commitment to the Zero Accidents target and ethos, and develops a wider awareness of quality, environmental issues and demonstrates commitment to achieve continual improvement and Zero tolerance.

    Essential:
  • IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office; in particular MS Excel
  • Experience of producing, analysing and presenting data to identify trends and potential improvements
  • Ability to multi-task and continuously prioritise workload
  • Flexible 'can do' and proactive team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Desirable
  • CIPD qualified
  • Experience of working on a Joint Venture within the construction industry
  • Power BI, A physical or mental impairment, which has a substantial and long-term effect (over 12 months) adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities
  • Demonstrated in your application and pre-interview stage that you meet the minimum job criteria and person specification for the role

    The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK's new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK's 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services
  • The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
