Full Job Description

Located in Boston and Weymouth, MA, you will be part of a strong, company-wide Health, Safety, Environmental & Security (HSE&S) Team, responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to the HSE&S best practices is applied to the Weymouth Laboratory and our Boston Operations team. This is a part time hourly (contract) role (25-35 hours per week) supporting a working laboratory in Weymouth, MA. during a construction project. The hours could fluctuate depending on operational needs. A majority of this role will be spent supporting a construction project onsite to expand and upgrade a working laboratory. Additionally, this role could support project compliance assigned to our Boston office for risk assessments and auditing as required. Responsibilities

  • Implementation of HSE&S Practices
  • + HSE&S oversight for lab remodel construction project + Coordinate simultaneous operations between construction and operating Laboratory. + Review and comment on sub-contractors HSE and Construction plans. + Oversee Regulatory Compliance Initiatives and Inspections o Enhance HSE awareness of all employees, subcontractors, etc. o Safe work practices in work planning o Job Safety Analysis o Toolbox Talks o HAZOPs + Support HSE&S procedure reviews and revisions + Support and participate in internal and external audits (ISO 14001 and 45001) + Ensure compliance with management fieldwork procedures.
  • Coordinate Field Compliance Programs for Boston/Weymouth
  • + Training Required for Employees Traveling to the Field + Weymouth Training Programs (HAZWOPER, Hoisting, etc.) + Support HSE&S Improvement Initiatives + Utilize Intelex to document incidents, audits, and leading and lagging indicators.

  • Bachelors degree in occupational safety or a technical field or 10 years of equivalent industry experience in-lieu of a degree.
  • Associated Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or equivalent preferred
  • Possesses a good understanding of operational safety.
  • Working knowledge in understanding and interpreting regulatory policies which include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), or Electrical Code (NEC) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • Ability to influence a team and coordinate simultaneous operations
  • Action oriented and self-directed; good organization and project management skills.
  • Solid understanding of incident investigations (Cause and Effects Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, 5-Whys)
  • Proficiency in HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 experience recommended.
