The role will involve working under the supervision of senior staff to deliver care to residents.This may include assisting with personal care, diet and fluids, helping people to move with use ofequipment and meeting psychological and social needs Overview of your roleThe role will involve working under the supervision of senior staff to deliver care to residents.This may include assisting with personal care, diet and fluids, helping people to move with use ofequipment and meeting psychological and social needs. Who will your manager be and what will you be responsible for?You will be:

  • reporting to care home manager who is in turn responsible for your health and safety,
  • training and development.
  • expected to lead and/or contribute to a range of projects and build relations with both
  • internal and external partners in order achieve specified outcomes but will not have direct authority over those involved. What will you be doing? 1. Support individuals in their daily living. This includes supporting individuals with their personal care needs, helping individuals to eat and drink and helping individuals to keep mobile. 2. Carry out and provide feedback on specific plan of care activities. 3. Communicate with colleagues, residents and their families and complete records for individuals. 4. Support individuals to manage continence, nutritional needs, hygiene needs and social needs. 5. Contribute to moving and handling individuals. 6. Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals. 7. Contribute to the care of a dying individual. 8. Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals. 9. Ensure your own actions support the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of service users. 10 Develop your own knowledge and practice. 11. Support new residents and their families to orientation to the home. 12. Undertake your role in a professional manner, be courteous, respectful and well mannered towards all residents, colleagues and visitors to the home. 13. Support and contribute to the induction, training and orientation of new staff.The above duties are an illustrative outline and are not an exhaustive list. You will be expected tobecome involved in a range of work to enable the service to respond effectively to the changingrequirements of the Council and changes affecting the workforce. What are your conditions of Service The conditions of service are those laid down by Shropshire Council, which have been adopted and amended as necessary from those laid down by the National Joint Council for Local Government Services.You will be based at Four Rivers Nursing Home, Ludlow, but you may occasionally be asked to work atalternative location or undertake online training at home

It provides residentialnursing services to its residents.

    Your post is subject to the following:
  • The post is permanent, for 26-32.5 hours per week, but casual post also available.
  • Shift times are 07.30-1430 and 1430-2130 or 2130-0730
  • This post carries eligibility to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. Information about this will be sent with any formal offer of appointment. Annual leave entitlement is as follows: In accordance with the working time directive, you will accrue an entitlement to annual leave, in direct proportion to the hours you work, with effect from appointment. The appointment is subject to one month's notice in writing on either side. The appointment is subject to six months' satisfactory probationary service during which time the notice period will be one week on either side. Smoking is not allowed in Council buildings, in Council vehicles or in any Council place of work. It is a condition of your appointment that you provide a suitable vehicle for the performance of your duties and that this is readily available for use during normal working hours. You are entitled to claim for reimbursement of the costs of travel on council business at the rate of 45 pence per mile. What pre-employment checks will we undertake?The appointment is subject to receipt of the following pre-employment checks; 1. Satisfactory employment references, 2. Medical report, 3. Evidence of the qualifications required for the post/listed on your application form,This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such all applicants who areappointed to this post will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and BarringService before the appointment is confirmed.
