Full Job Description

An opportunity has come up for a nurse or midwife to join our antenatal clinic team to work as the band 6 Immunisation Nurse / Midwife providing clinical expertise to pregnant women. This is for 12 months maternity leave cover.
The nurse/midwife will be responsible for leading the immunisation maternity service and supporting/advising staff, women and their families.
The Nurse / Midwife will be responsible for reporting all immunisation data to the Trust and Public Health England accordingly., · Work in partnership with the client, Midwives, GP, obstetricians and other agencies to ensure that all women are offered and given where appropriate Seasonal Influenza, Pertussis and Covid-19 vaccinations.
· Lead and manage the maternity immunisation service, ensuring 7 day a week cover is maintained.
· Manage Band 5 Nurses and Band 3 support workers within the immunisation service., · Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of pregnant women regarding their options of vaccinations during pregnancy in accordance with the Trust's policies and guidelines.
· Strive for continuity of care and informed client choice within the limitations of the service.
· Facilitate the learning of immunisation and vaccination skills through supervision, teaching and support.
· Actively promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle, advising and arranging vaccination support for women as required.
