Full Job Description
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to appoint a 12 month fixed term initially to join an enthusiastic forward-looking Medical team at the Eastbourne General Hospital.
The Department of Care of the Elderly currently comprises three complex care wards and intermediate care and nurse-led wards. These are in close proximity to the department's office accommodation and out-patient department. There are good multidisciplinary links.
The Stroke Unit at Eastbourne DGH consists of 39 beds, spread across East Dean and Sovereign wards. As a single sited service there are no Stroke beds at Conquest Hospital, but patients who present at Conquest Hospital and placed on the Stroke pathway are transferred to Eastbourne for Inpatient care.
The postholder will be part of a team of Consultant, Middle Grade, FY2/CT and FY1 grades and supported by a wider multi-disciplinary team.
Please note this post will end 5th August 2025, The post holders will work closely with the medical and nursing teams on all the wards as well as CCU, Path Lab and Radiology Department. The post holder will support the junior team in attending both emergency and elective admissions, treat ward patients in consultation with senior staff, review ward patients daily, maintain progress notes, attend resuscitation training and participate as a member of the cardiac arrest team.
The Post holder will also be expected to effectively communicate with patients and relatives and respond to any queries or complaints where applicable., + The healthcare provider of first choice for the people of East Sussex.
