Full Job Description
The Library Service at Royal Holloway, University of London, is looking to recruit an Information Assistant to be a part of their Customer Services team. Successful applicants will help support the team to deliver the frontline service.
We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, confident, and team-orientated individuals. The post holder(s) will contribute to the delivery of an efficient customer-focused library service, by assisting users with account enquiries both in person and digitally, using our enquiry management system and live chat.
You will help with stock management, whilst assisting users to locate resources and use equipment such as self-service kiosks and printer/scanners throughout the library.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve shared goals. You should have previously worked in a customer service environment and have good IT skills.
You will be the customer services champion for our loanable laptops, which will require regular auditing and liaison with our IT department.
The hours of work are 35 hours a week, worked Monday to Friday. Core hours are 09:00-17:00. On rare occasions, work outside of these hours may be required, depending on the needs of the service, which may include some evening/weekends by prior agreement. This is a campus-based role with limited opportunities for home working.
In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:
# Generous annual leave entitlement
# Training and Development opportunities
# Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
# Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing.
# Free parking
