Full Job Description

General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Inspection & Test Lead to join our Production Team. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary, based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally. Joining an established team based at our Merthyr facility, you will work across a range of stakeholders, Reporting to the General Dynamics UK Land Systems Acceptance Manager, the I&T Lead will conduct Joint Acceptance activities focusing on Inspection, test including test specification Acceptable Quality Limits (AQLs). If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:

  • Generate Joint Acceptance Group Inspection & Test Specifications & Documentation, conducting Continuous Improvement activities throughout.
  • Provide SME advice to the wider team on all aspects of the Joint Acceptance Group Inspection & Test Specification.
  • Generate the Inspection & Test standards and ensure completeness prior to vehicle movement into the Desnag & Final Presentation phase., A compressed nine-day fortnight - which means every other Friday off!

    Good all round Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
  • Full UK Driving License (Cat H advantageous)
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to read assembly documentation such as, drawings and work instructions
  • General knowledge of assembly operations, repair techniques and fault finding
  • Ability to work in a multi-faceted team environment
  • Ability to work at heights and in restricted spaces
  • Flexible to meet the demands of the business
  • A can do attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations, Disability Confident
