Full Job Description

We're looking for an Inspector to join our Transportation team based in Edmonton / Staines. Within this role, you can enjoy competitive annual holiday entitlement with opportunities to buy/sell leave, a fantastic, matched pension scheme, a share in the success you help to create by investing in Kier through our Sharesave and Share Incentive Plans and even more., As an Inspector, you'll be working in the Asset team, supporting them in carrying out safety inspections and monthly sign inspections as required on the TLRN. Assisting the Tarmac Kier joint venture (TKJV) in compilation of NRSWA Section 81 defects, carrying out ad-hoc and service inspections.

  • Undertaking bus station inspections, highway safety inspections and monthly sign inspections in accordance with Series 3350 of the HMPF contract, raising any defects remotely via TKJV handheld tablets, escalating any emergencies found on the network to the London Control Centre, monitoring and providing information on standard of works completed by the Operations teams
  • This role is street based, you will be required to conduct work on foot and where required, in a liveried vehicle provided by TKJV
  • Contributing to sustainable development in all duties undertaken, confirming the best use of company resources in meeting contractual requirements
  • Operating in compliance with company procedures, best practices and any legislation current at the time, operating through agreed lines of communication with the relevant levels of the client organisation and within TKJV.
  • Actively promoting health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and safeguarding awareness of and compliance with the general health and safety responsibilities as set out in the health and safety procedures manual

    You hold City & Guilds Highway Inspection 6033 - Unit 311 Highway Safety Inspection and included in the national register of Highways Inspectors
  • Working knowledge of highways design standards. Working experience of Health and Safety and CDM regulations
  • Drive and hold a full driving licence in order to visit depots / sites
