  • Advising on the UK IPT treatment of insurer / broker contracts;
  • Considering complex location of risk queries;
  • Considering industry wide issues. For example, recent discussions have included those on the IPT treatment of space risks or risks in the oil and gas industry;
  • Working with our overseas teams to advise on IPT queries across Europe and the World;
  • Looking at IPT tax points and understand the operational impact on insurers
  • Seeking to develop new IPT technology and automate IPT processes for clients;
  • Involvement in IPT compliance (albeit mainly focussed on review rather than return preparation).
  • As you are given the autonomy to establish your own contacts within a client and reach your own solutions your independence will be accelerated. You will also be encouraged to speak and liaise with previous colleagues and contacts from across the insurance industry and where appropriate, contribute to industry led discussions on IPT. It is up to you to take this independence and build your own network. Whilst autonomy is encouraged the team network will always be available when you need support and advice. In addition to the areas above, we would also want you to have responsibility for:
  • Assisting with deepening relationships with target accounts, contributing to winning new work;
  • Managing client projects reporting to Directors and Partners;
  • Assisting with developing less experienced staff with hands on advice and support;
  • Input into development of new market opportunities locally, nationally and internationally with an opportunity to lead the market development of new IPT ideas;
  • Contributing to enhancement of relationships with all targets and clients;
  • Working closely with colleagues in other parts of the firm;
  • Having a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; having a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.

    Prior IPT experience gained within industry, professional services or HMRC.
  • Extensive IPT experience.
  • Excellent client facing, relationship building and business development skills, coupled with commercial awareness
  • The ability to be proactive, identify opportunities and take early responsibility.
