Full Job Description
The Integrated Disability Service Hearing Team works with Deaf Children and Young People aged from birth to 25. Teachers of the Deaf assess needs, plan and deliver evidenced-based support in homes, early years' settings, mainstream / specialist and post-16 settings.
- You will deliver advice and guidance, modelling a range of interventions and strategies to build capacity and improve inclusion for Deaf and Hearing Impaired CYP.
- You will work collaboratively with a range of health, social care and voluntary sector professionals, including Audiology, Speech and Language Specialists to support CYP, families and their educational settings.
- You will provide an understanding of Children and Young People with Hearing Impairment and help develop their deaf identity.
- You will be aspirational for Deaf Children and Young People, enabling learners to improve outcomes. The successful candidate must be able to travel countywide.
The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.

The position is permanent and under the WCC Centrally Employed Teacher's Pay and Conditions. Teachers Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale + SEN allowance (dependent upon successful applicant holding the Mandatory Qualification for Teachers of the Deaf)., Your future matters to us, we provide a generous pension scheme which includes an employer contribution rate of typically around 19 percent per month, to help support your financial security during retirement.
