Full Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. There is an opportunity for student(s) to work as Events Assistant for the International Society for the Study of Drug Policy (ISSDP) hosted by Drug, Policy and Social Change (DPSC) research group in the Department of Sociology. This event will take place between 11-15 June 2025. Duties may include:

  • Assist in all pre-event preparation
  • Assist with the delivery of events
  • Assist with the branding of events
  • Liaise with internal and external suppliers
  • Respond to event enquiries via phone and email
  • General administration duties

    This role is only open to current Manchester Met students who meet the following requirements -
  • You are a UG Event Management final year or PG Event Management student
  • Competent in Excel
  • Good communicator and confidence to liaise with global network of academics.
  • Takes own initiative and feeds back to line manager in a timely way.
  • Project management experience, e.g. previous relevant experience and ability to us packages and systems such as Loop.
