We aim to recruit into this post as soon as possible in order to maximise the 5 month period of funding for the post (Dec 2024 until April 2025). Please only apply if you are able to work during this period of time., The post is to work with a team of doctors looking after the Rheumatology inpatients. There will also be acute medical on call shifts rotating through the Acute Admissions Ward (AAW), the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC). They will gain invaluable experience as a clinical decision maker in the acute medical setting, and in a supported training and learning environment with robust consultant and registrar presence, whilst having the opportunity to develop and consolidate hands-on practical procedural skills and specialist interests if desired. We aim to provide exposure to some of the highest acuity in medical patients at the hospital and will also provide exposure to complex tertiary Lupus and Vasculitis patients.
The post would be ideal for an individual who enjoys Rheumatology and General Medicine and is aiming towards MRCP and core/higher training in Internal Medicine with any of the core medical sub-specialities and looking to add depth to their acute and generalist skills.
The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the general internal medicine rota at St Thomas' Hospital as part of the post.
