Full Job Description

  • The Kitchen Manager's role is to support the Executive Head Chef, Hospitality Chef and Senior Sous Chef in building a positive working environment and ensuring the smooth daily operation of the Discovery Centre kitchen. Such support includes menu planning and stepping in with operational cover, while also taking full responsibility for rota scheduling and forecasting, cost management and ordering, stock control, financial administration, equipment maintenance, health & Safety, HR administration, training plans, and departmental compliance.
  • In the absence of the Exec Head Chef, the Kitchen Manager, Hospitality Chef and Senior Sous Chef will jointly lead the kitchen, supporting each other and the team with professionalism, dignity, and respect.
  • The Kitchen Manager is the proactive lead on all food safety and catering related financial management, while ensuring Sodexo are innovative and supporting our client's priorities. This person is also responsible for the line management of five Kitchen Assistants, along with prioritising their crucial development into Junior CDPs (if app.).

    Proven experience in (specific area, e.g., management, facilities, or customer service).
  • A proactive and solution-focused mindset.
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • IT literate
  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3
  • 706/2 or NVQ2 chef qualification, or equivalent
