The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. The Department of Computing & Mathematics is recruiting a number of students to work as Lab Demonstrators during the 2025/2026 academic year. As a Lab Demonstrator, you will provide vital support to fellow students across a range of taught within the department. Lab Demonstrators will work for between 6 - 10 hours per week during term time and will:
- Assist in lab and/or drop-in sessions for students in the year(s) below on their degree
- Collaborate with academic staff in delivering effective and engaging sessions
- Exhibit patience and compassion when working with students who may be struggling with their coursework
- Utilise knowledge and experience from successfully completing related modules to support students in need Benefits:

- Gain valuable experience in mentoring and supporting fellow students Dates: 2025-26 teaching year, during term time only. Hours of Work: 6-10 hours each week, fit around your own timetable. - Will be in their second or third/final year of study in 2025-2026
- Have successfully completed the current year in their own degree program, and are consistently achieving good grades
- Have a strong understanding of the modules and topics being taught (including Programming, Web, Databases, Games Development, as relevant to your degree.)
- Have excellent communication skills
- Are able to work effectively in a team
- Have a passion for helping others and contributing to their academic growth
