AB Vista Laboratory Services, operating from laboratories in Hengoed, Wales, United Kingdom, is looking for a skilled laboratory assistant to join our team. This is an entry-level role in which we hope to find a positive, efficient worker with an interest in science!
An AB Vista Laboratory Assistant supports the overall running of the laboratory by performing tasks such as:
Sample preparation, including:
+ Logging of samples into our laboratory information management system (LIMS)
+ Milling/Grinding/Mixing samples
+ Weighing samples
Buffer Preparation
+ Daily and monthly checking and calibration of balances, pH meters, and pipettes
+ scanning of animal feedstuffs using Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR)
To thrive in this role, we are looking for someone with:
+ Interest in biology, chemistry, or agricultural sciences

+ Effective ability to communicate and work well with a team
+ High attention to detail with the ability to follow both written and verbal technical instructions
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time and priorities wisely
+ Previous experience with Microsoft Suite and SharePoint, proficient computer skills required
Physical Requirements
+ No allergies to animal feedstuff ingredients (eg. wheat)
+ Ability to stand for extended periods
+ Ability to handle at least 5L of liquid (approx. 5kg)
