As a key member of our Management team, the Laboratory Operations Manager (LOM) plays an essential role in achieving our mission of "Culturing Analytical Excellence." What you'll be doing:

- Ensure high-quality stakeholder service and manage contractors and equipment.

- Lead the maintenance of methods and procedures to meet regulatory and accreditation standards.

- Achieve organisational goals through SLA targets in quality, productivity, communication, and career development.

- Collaborate with procurement to maintain stock within budget.

- Provide and seek coaching to develop high-performing teams.

- Use specialised knowledge to develop and share methods, ensuring advancements are critically assessed.

- Participate in management rota to cover lab hours and promote team success through performance reviews.

- Identify development opportunities to inspire team growth.

- Develop strategies for effective recruitment, induction, and training.

- Actively promote company culture and teamwork..

Honours (first or second class) degree in Science or a Science related subject, e.g. B.Sc.(Hons) or equivalent

- Knowledge and experience sufficient to resolve complex technical problems

- Ability to analyse, compare, interpret and make judgements based on data

- Can demonstrate where change has been brought about to achieve a positive outcome

- Experience in operational management, having managed a site or team.

- Leadership skills required for management of a team, able to implement HR procedures e.g. appraisal, attendance mgt, grievance and disciplinary

- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload appropriately.

- Focus on the customer & provision of workable solutions to meet clients' requirements consistently.
