Full Job Description

Avantor is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join the team and provide specialist support to QA laboratories based in Macclesfield, UK. In this position, you'll be responsible for supporting a wide range of laboratory tasks, including the preparation of stock solutions, reagent management, equipment checks, and general housekeeping., You'll be part of a dynamic team supporting Quality Assurance (QA) laboratories. The team works collaboratively to ensure all daily laboratory activities are completed in accordance with GMP standards. You'll be part of our Lab and Production Services department, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories around the world, advancing research and development in the Life Sciences industry.,

  • Perform scientific support activities in line with Health & Safety guidelines, GMP, and local agreements to ensure operational excellence.
  • Prepare buffers, solutions, and reagents accurately to support laboratory processes and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Manage and maintain laboratory consumables, ensuring stock levels are replenished and equipment is in good working order.
  • Support inventory management and delivery coordination, ensuring timely and efficient handling of laboratory materials.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure all tasks are completed on time, maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment.

    Education: A minimum of five GCSEs, including Maths, English, and one or more Science subjects (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or warehouse setting is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow Health & Safety guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Proficient in basic IT skills (including Microsoft Excel)

    This role is a full-time permanent position based at our customer's site in Macclesfield (SK10 2NA). Next to an attractive salary, we offer multiple benefits such as a bonus, pension scheme, private medical and dental care, and an additional day off for your birthday. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:30
