Full Job Description
A new opportunity for an experienced Large Format Print operative to join the cardfactory production team located near Bradford within the manufacture and supply facility. The role will be to manufacture and develop products such as point of sale, signage and products to support our growing number of retail outlets for our own brand, If successful, you will be joining at an exciting time, as we are internalising our own print, supported by the installation of a brand new SwissQ Nyala press to allow us to serve our 1070 retail shops and a growing number of further retail partners. You will join the business at the very start of this new venture and will want to embrace the opportunity presented by this role. There will be the chance to share knowledge and develop the position as the large format operation grows. Furthermore, this position will require a focus on teamworking, whereby you will get to influence innovation and research and development of new products, working closely with the creative and marketing teams. Based at our production facility in Baildon, Bradford you will be working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines is essential. You will need hands-on experience of operating large-format digital printers. The business will be flexible with working hours outside of the peak periods, with a view that normal workdays will be Monday to Friday, with working hours falling between 6:00am and 10:00pm, with the salary reflecting that. There would also be opportunities for overtime and some weekend work will be required. Role Responsibility
- Operate and manage large format flatbed printers.
- Use Esko cutting tables for precision cutting of printed materials.
- Working with our designers to ensure print files are set up correctly.
- Inspect final products to ensure they meet the required specifications and our quality standards.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of projects.
- Troubleshoot and maintain printing and cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance., In return, we offer a wide range of benefits to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
Proven experience in large format flatbed printing, creating templates and optimise material usage. - Proficiency in use of cutting tables.
- Organising the print workload, in conjunction with the production office.
- Controlling and collating large print jobs.
- Flexibility in working hours during peak demand, the business will be equally flexible outside of peak.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Ideally, you might have the below;
- Experienced in the use of large format printers and cutting tables.
- A inquisitive mind to test and learn new production and media methods with time to research and develop new products to potentially sell within our own store and online group of companies.
- Familiarity with RIP software and pre-press file preparation.
- Knowledge of various print substrates and materials.
- Knowledge and understanding of Adobe software, specifically Illustrator (beneficial).
