Lead CMF Engineer

We're seeking a Lead CMF Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to our Head of CMF, you will be the CMF teams technical expert in driving forward our innovative thinking into real life materiality

This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from our planned Bicester location. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

What you'll do

- Lead the technical side of CMF design projects alongside CMF designers and Engineers, hitting design goals and exhaustively exploring the technicalities of luxury materiality.

- Own interior engineering topics: From design through to production, interior feature finishes and brightwork, feature finishers (veneers) as well as soft materials (leather, textile etc).

- Work super closely with suppliers through expertise and project management to enable CMF strategies to come alive from creative direction stage through to final vehicle on the road.

- Develop innovative and game changing materiality, from material properties and construction dissection through to yarn/raw material deep dives. Build key relationships with new and innovative suppliers as well as established partners to allow streamlined developments into production environments.

- Work within and create smart processes that challenges traditional OEM standards- Utilising the start up environment and being entrepreneurial with time and efficiency.

- Put the CMF team function on the map- working closely with designers and engineers from Interior/Exterior design to integrate CMF deliverables and showcases at key design milestones as equal contributors.

- Work closely with CMF Design Manager and Sustainability team to ensure all CMF strategies implemented are in line with brand guidelines and inform the design process accordingly.

- A materiality expert- particularly in automotive grade soft materials (Leathers, alternative leathers, textiles etc) as well as hard materials (metals, finishes, woods, veneers etc)

- An affinity for design with an engineering mindset.

- An inquisitive mind that knows the rules, but also knows how to break them.
