Full Job Description

Ashfield School are looking to appoint a Learning and Progress Assistant to add capacity to our large, friendly and supportive inclusion team widely recognised as a beacon of best practice in Nottinghamshire.

This role will focus on supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities to access the full curriculum and enjoy a full secondary school life. As part of the inclusion team, you will support students in lessons and around school.

The inclusion team work collaboratively to deliver high quality support for our students. Inclusion is based in a central suite of rooms and will move to a brand-new facility within the next two years, as part of the DFE school re-building programme.

The person:

The successful candidate will have the essential personal skills to work with young people with a range of special educational needs. Ideally, you will have had previous experience working with young people, but full training will be provided to an inexperienced applicant with a positive, hardworking and empathetic attitude.

We are looking for someone who will build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues and who will support students to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.

Grade and salary: Grade 2: £19,793 - £20,804 per annum (£23,114 - £24,294 FTE)

Working pattern: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time including INSET)
